When I served my mission in the mid-90s, there were only a few ways to contact potential investigators about the gospel. We could track (during the day, most people weren't home). We could go street contacting (most people were hurrying to/from work/lunch. We could hope to visit with members to gather referrals (but see #1) We could stay in the apartment & make calls to old contacts (again, see #1) Now, social media is a main source of sharing the gospel.
