At Sound Cake, we know that finding the perfect volume is like finding the perfect recipe—it’s all about balance. To judge how much sound your event needs, start by looking at the acoustics and materials.
A room with high ceilings and "hard" surfaces (like brick, glass, or concrete) will bounce sound around, creating echoes that can turn music into a muddy mess. In these spaces, less is often more. Conversely, "soft" venues with heavy drapes, carpets, and a large crowd will absorb sound. You’ll need more power to ensure the music doesn't fall flat.
Finally, consider the "Headroom" vs. "High Volume." You want speakers that can fill the space effortlessly without straining. If your equipment is redlining just to be heard, the quality will suffer. Always aim for clear, distributed sound so the front row isn't deafened while the back row is straining to hear. Plus, in Southern Utah, the sound curfew is 10pm on weeknights & midnight on weekends.
